8:13 PM / 29 February

I thought I'd put up a post today since it's the 29th of February. It comes around once every 4 years so I guess why not.

This leap year thingy just got me thinking. If one ever needs to see the non-existence of perfection, all one has to do is look at the Earth's solar cycle. I mean it makes sense all the stuff that we learn in school. About the Earth's orbit and that how it doesn't exactly take 365 days to complete it. In common sense it should take 365 days. But that's nature's funny way of creating imperfections so nothing is really as it is.

Just a thought. Didn't really want to say much about it.

Hmmm. Talking about solar systems, there is this really cool sitcom I've been watching recently. I don't thin they show it in Singapore. It's called 'The Big Bang Theory'. It's the story of these two genius prodigies who one day find out that they have a new neighbour living across the hall from their apartment. It turns out to be this good-looking chick with a questionable intellect who works at The Cheesecake Factory. Inevitably, one of them becomes attracted to the girl.

That's the gist of the story. It's a very funny sitcom with great one-liners. Though there are only 8 episodes now because of the writer's strike in the US. The next episode airs on March 17. Here's a bit of a look at the show.

So go check it out. Like I said, I'm not sure if it's available in Singapore. Maybe on cable TV. If you wanna you can check it out at sidereel.com

As of right now I'm feeling really bored. And it's officially only the second day of holidays. Nothing much to do at home, on facebook or anywhere on the internet for that matter. I start work again next week. But that ain't gonna be that exciting.

However, I will be away 'til the 4th as my poly class is having a chalet at Costa Sands Pasir Ris. I hope that turns out good. But I need to make sure I don't spend too much. I have a habit of spending a lot during chalet stays. Thank God I'm working.

Alright. 'Til then, stay safe.

Finally this semester is over. This was probably the most disastrous semester ever. I can't believe that I even made it through in one piece. I'm so happy I survived that I'm not even gonna care about my results. It's probably screwed anyway because of my stupid IT Innovation Project. So much for innovation. How am I supposed to think outside the box when there's a cage around it? I hope you guys understand the meaning behind that.

So yeah. Skool's out. Had my last paper today. It was rather easy. Most of the things I crammed into my head came out. The case they gave wasn't to hard either. The paper was for 'An Introduction in Market Research' by the way. My grade for this module might be pulled down because of my first test results. The day of that test I was actually just coming back from a chalet if I'm not wrong. So I pretty much did the test in a state of semi-slumber. Lol.

So I went out to town with some of the peeps from my poly class. Had a late lunch followed by a walk around town. I went to HMV for like the 10th time to see if they had brought in Protest The Hero's 'Fortress'. But it seemed that they were never going to bring it in voluntarily so I had to place an order to import it. I guess it'll be a $32 well spent. I also finally managed to get a good skate tee that I can fit into. I'm kinda getting bored of wearing black T-shirts only.

I'm getting sleepy already...

There's this band that I think really needs attention. They are called Black Tide and the blow my freaking brains out. They are relatively new and have yet to release their debut full-length album. The crazy thing is their age. I was always amazed at how young Matt Heafy from Trivium was when the band hit big time. But man, Black Tide beats that and Trivium. The lead singer is only 15 years old. Godammit. He's 15 and he's already performed on the Ozzfest main stage, opening for Ozzy himself. I'm like oh my god. This kid is great. It also kinda knocks my self-esteem down a bit cuz he is so young and has accomplished so much. The other members in the band are around 19 years of age by the way. So yeah. Have a listen and enjoy.

Oh man. Not feeling too well these past few days. Darn sinuses. And I've been quite busy too. I've been helping my dad clear out the house so that we can get it valued by the HDB. I realize that my family has a lot of unwanted/old stuff. I mean really old to the point that I do not remember it being there. So my house right now is pretty much cluttered up. My dad moved me into my brother's old room while he tries and convert my room into a study. And all of this is happening while I am having my exams. Just great.

I've been listening to a lot of New Found Glory these days. I just can't seem to get enough of them. I just don't know why. I listened to them a long time ago in primary school when I was really into the pop punk scene. Bands like Blink-182, Green Day and NOFX. Not really old skool punk but just great energetic music. They are not only a great band to listen to but also to watch. Here's a couple of my recent favourites. Simple songs that are easy on the ear and great meaning behind them both musically and visually.

It's Not Your Fault.

I Don't Wanna Know

Woah. That sure took a lot of time. I started at 1:17 and ended this post at 3:27.

4:30 AM / 16 February

Finally I can put in another update.

This week was a cool week. Managed to work a bit. Working is fun. Especially with all the crazy people at my outlet. No 2 days are the same. And at the same time, I get to meet great people. Especially foreigners. Not that I'm biased or anything but I find that the foreigners tend to be more appreciative and acknowledging. Singaporeans show the same attitudes too but not all of them. Some of them don't appreciate the things we do so that their experience is more pleasant. So at times I kinda just try to get rid of them as quick as possible (i.e. serve their drink or whatever ASAP).

See what this shows. And they expect everyone to give good service. Don't they know that service works the same way as respect? It's a 2 way street. I'll give you good service, but you're gonna have to show me the need to actually provide that service. Just like respect it has to be mutual. What's the point of me respecting you if you do not respect me. So yeah. Just my 2 pence on that topic.

I had great Valentine's Day too. Not that I had a date or anything like that. It was something even better. I got to hang out with close friends! Fadhil, Nadhirah, Aqilah, Lisda and me all went out to celebrate Aqilah's and Fadhil's birthdays, albeit a little late. But still it was fun. We went to this Thai restaurant place thingy in Bugis near Masjid Sultan. The food there was cheap and great but dammit they need to put to stop using Thai words in the menu. Half of the time I didn't know what the hell we were ordering. All I knew was that 'phad' meant fried. Or at least that is what I think it means. Oh yeah, but some of the food was quite pedas. But I could tahan long enough for my chrysanthemum tea to arrive.

Oh and there was cake!

It was supposed to be Tiramisu but it seemed more like a cheesecake.

Then just as Aqilah and Fadhil thought that we were going home, we sprang a surprise on them by getting them gifts! We got Aqilah a book and Fadhil a new bag to replace the beaten one he has. The book me and Nadh got it about a week before that day and Fadhil's bag was pretty much impromptu as we needed to make sure that the bag suited him. All in all it was a hell of a Valentine's Day.

Lovey Dovey couples eat your hearts out. This is the beef I have with V day. It's just one freaking day. The greatest of loves do not need a day to define its presence or existence. If you think that having a date or getting married on Valentine's day is more 'special' or more 'meaningful' then all I can say is good luck to you. You see, there are 365 days in a year and approximately 25 550 to 28 800 days in a person's lifetime. Let's just say the luckiest of couples are together for 20 000 days. That's a lot of days. If you can't make every single one of those days special then there is no point really being in love. If you need a day like Valentine's Day to make your love special then you most probably will have to rethink your relationship a little bit.

So yeah, that's another piece of my mind for those of you that pass through here.

So there has been another school shooting in the USA. Goddamn motherfuckers. I don't blame the kid that fired shots in that lecture hall in the University of Illinois. I really don't. I blame the fucking capitalists of the USA. What did they think guns were made for??? To help us shoot rose petals out of our ass holes???

Godammit man. Really. You didn't see this coming. Wasn't Columbine enough of a warning in the first place??? Or even the VTech incident??? If the bloody 2-bit government there can't put controls on the gun laws in the USA then they might as well legalize drugs such as marijuana or crack cocaine. They say that background checks are done and all that, but who the heck knows what is going on in the next redneck that goes in to the firearm store and gets himself a rifle? You think that all he's gonna do is shoot some birds? If it's not him going crazy with the gun it could be anybody in his family who stumbles upon the gun. Then who suffers? Other innocent people.

This is the problem with the US as a whole. Other people are dying for their ideals. Innocent people have died in an unnecessary war. Brave men's soul now sent to heaven 'cause their government asks them to fight for their country. And the dumb rednecks with a 2-bit education just supports it 'cause their redneck president says so. Really, nothing in that war makes any freaking sense. They attack Iraq 'cause they suspect that there are WMDs. But not freaking North Korea. They know that N. Korea has WMDs but what do they do? They negotiate. Dammit man. But what am I to say. Like I have said before. War is a product of peace. Peace never comes from war. It supposedly is the reason why most countries go to war and that's what pisses me off.

But what am I to do. I'll most probably be another puppet in the great stage show that is Singapore. So while all that happens guess what I'm gonna do? Kick some ass. And have fun with friends and family while doing it.

Peace.

Oh yeah, how could I leave without a video. This is for all the Valentine's Day shit.
